Why isn’t Esther on my ballot for the August 9 Primary Election? When do I vote for her?
Esther does not have a DFL challenger this year, so she is not listed on the ballot for this year’s primary election. You can vote for Esther in the General Election between September 23 and November 8.
How do I register?
You can register online and by mail up until 21 days before Election Day (on or before July 19) -or- Register in person on Election Day! We encourage you to register before Election Day—it will save you time at the polling place.

How do I vote early?
Any Minneapolis voter may choose to vote early! Early voting will begin on Friday, June 24 for the State Primary Election and Tuesday, September 23 for the General Election. You may vote early in person or apply for a mail-in absentee ballot.

Where do I vote on Election Day?
On Election Day, all polling places are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Your assigned polling place is located near where you live. Check the online polling place finder ahead of each election to confirm your Election Day polling place location.

Who can vote in Minnesota?
✔️ You must be a U.S. Citizen
✔️ At least 18 years old on November 3
✔️ You must have lived in the state for at least 20 days
✔️ If you have a felony conviction, you must be finished with all parts of your sentence (aka off paper)

Your criminal record does not affect your right to vote in Minnesota unless you are currently serving a felony conviction sentence, including probation, parole or supervised release.

Information for Folks Experiencing Homelessness
If you are homeless, you can register to vote using the location of where you sleep as your address. You may need to go to the polling place with someone who can confirm where you are living.
The place where you sleep can be in a shelter, at a friend's house, or outside somewhere, that is your voting residence.
